Meeting purpose

To come to a final agreement on remaining issues and move to finalize requirements for Jan 22nd deadline

Discussion

Report on meeting with Application developer (William Bronsema)

Backend Multimedia Management

• WB: doable. unfamiliar with streaming media however.

Adding new queries in Advanced Interface

• will be kept in mind during development.

Uploading multiple associated data files

• SHP and GPX will only be supported
• WB: for multiple associated files for shapefiles, a wizard approach could be used to make sure users upload all necessary files

Special Characters

• WB: will be kept in mind during development.
• will have to be kept in mind for both interface and mapping

Report Consolidation

• WB: doable.

MapTips

• layers will be predefined
• WB: described current Chameleon widget
• FW: a toggle could also easily be included in interface to turn MapTips on/off

PrintMap functionality

• WB: current Chameleon widget is sufficient.

Interface Discussion

Display of pregenerated map images in Basic Interface

• all discussed problems with using pregenerated map images
• JH: inquired about curved labelling in MapServer? for features
• all decided to use MapServer? for Basic Interface map creation, and use the existing print media for the reports

Legend generation

• Basic
  • legend will not be used to change display
• Advanced
  • legend and layer manager will be tied in
  • FW: layers in layer list could be expanded to see classes, or a stand alone legend can be used
• clicking a layer link populates the Layer Information tab

Refresh Map for Region/Sub?-region/Theme selection

• region selector will be a tree list with one branch open at a time
• small magnifying glass icon will be beside each link to zoomto that item
• clicking on a region -> changes extent/scale
• clicking on a theme -> changes map

Multimedia Management

• all agreed it will be included in the altas backend.

Documentation Ideas

User doc

• FW: could be a normal widget description page, and also a page highlighting atlas functionality ("in order to find more information on X do Y")
• JM to include example in Jan 22nd document

Administrator doc

• JH: will create, as he will be the one to explain other admins how to use
